Center-Pikit (PEACE-Pikit)
In response to
the efforts of eight (8) Muslim and Christian
Communities who have declared their barangays as
“Space for Peace Communities”, PDAP with the
support of The Asian Community Trust (ACT)
ACT-JAPAN provided funding for the construction
of two Peace Centers in two Space for Peace
barangays in Pikit, Dalingaoen and Lagundi. The
project also provided support for
capacity-building activities related to
organizational strengthening, project management
and livelihood training.
Muscovado Industry
Up-scaling Project in Sultan Kudarat
PDAP in partnership with the Asia-Japan
Partnership Network for Poverty Reduction (AJPN)
intervened in the development of the local
muscovado industry by consolidating the small
sugarcane farmers and muscovado millers into a
corporate entity providing business
consolidation services in product standards and
trading with mainstream markets.
Project activities include training and
application of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
and the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control
Points (HACCP), implementing of a Farmers Field
School (FFS, market linkage and capacity
building support in collaboration with various
government, non-government organizations
including the academe.
Building Unity and
Integrating Local Efforts towards Democratic
Development (BUILD) Project
Within the context of the human security
framework, and collaborative efforts of the
Pagtabangan BaSulTa (PB) Consortium, PDAP in
partnership with CIDA has implemented a Civil
Society Organization (CSO) capacity building
project that aims to improve and strengthen the
capacity of CSOs in Tawitawi in the Autonomous
Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) to plan,
implement and manage development projects and
increase their ability to engage different
sectors (e.g., NGAs, LGUs,
national/international NGOs, donor, private
sector) and participate actively in governance.
Aside from its capacity building intervention,
PDAP in BUILD supports the Sitangkai Seaweed
Industry Development Planning and works closely
with the World Wildlife Fund for the livelihood
component of the program on Sea Turtle
Conservation in Turtle Islands, Tawitawi.
